We are the Dinh Hiep Church of Christ (DHCOC), and it brings us great joy to welcome you to vncoc.org. This website is our heartfelt outreach to our brothers and sisters in Christ from around the globe who are visiting or making their home in Vietnam. Our deepest desire is to help you connect with a warm, vibrant, and worshiping Christian community during your time here. The Dinh Hiep congregation has been on a remarkable journey of faith since 1975, and we are delighted to share a part of our story with you.

Founding Seeds in Faith (1975)
Our story begins in August 1975, when two faithful families from the Saigon Church of Christ prayerfully chose to relocate to Dinh Hiep town in Binh Duong province. These families were led by Mr. Tạ Mạnh Du, who was a minister in Saigon, and Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Nhậm. These dedicated men were part of the first generation of the Saigon Church of Christ. Together, their families, numbering around 24 members in total, became the founding members of the Dinh Hiep Church of Christ. From these devoted beginnings, our congregation has been blessed to see growth.

Pioneering Leadership and Steadfast Devotion:
For the first nine years, Mr. Tạ Mạnh Du faithfully led and nurtured our young church, dedicating himself to stabilizing the congregation in its new home and fostering resilience. His leadership was a testament to unwavering faith. After Mr. Du was called home to the Lord in 1984, his stepson, Mr. Trần Đức Đồng, embraced the responsibility of leadership. In 1986, Brother Đồng married Mrs. Lê Thị Hiền Hậu, and together they formed a dynamic and devoted ministry team. Their partnership ushered in a significant era of growth and loving outreach for our church and beyond.

Continuing the Legacy: A New Generation of Service
The torch of faith continues to be carried forward with passion by a new generation. In 2008, Trần Hồng Ân (son of Trần Đức Đồng) became a significant minister at DHCOC. Following his marriage to Đồng Thị Quý Hoàng in 2011 and his pursuit of deeper biblical studies (including a Bachelor of Biblical Studies at Sunset International Bible Institute), Ân founded the Vietnam Bible Institute (VBI) in 2014. VBI is a national ministry with a vision for saving the lost and edifying the saved across Vietnam. This beautiful collaboration unites members from the second and third generations of our church, transitioning mission efforts to a collaborative, team-based approach spearheaded by the younger generation. Together, they have profoundly influenced DHCOC and have been instrumental in the growth of Churches of Christ in Vietnam.

Our Core Beliefs and Practices: Living Out God’s Word
Our Guiding Mission:
At Dinh Hiep Church of Christ, our identity and purpose are deeply rooted in New Testament Christianity. We are wholeheartedly committed to glorifying God (Ephesians 3:21) through three foundational practices:
Evangelism: Passionately sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, driven by a profound belief in God’s redemptive purpose for all humanity (Matthew 28:18–20; John 3:16).
Edification: Lovingly teaching and nurturing believers to live according to Christ’s word, building up the body of Christ in unity, truth, and love (Ephesians 4:1–16; Colossians 1:28). The Vietnam Bible Institute (VBI) is a vital expression of this commitment.
Benevolence: Caring for one another and demonstrating God’s love through practical support, hospitality, and sacrificial service, inspired by the example of Christ.
Our Worship and Community Life:
We cherish the simplicity, warmth, and intimacy of New Testament worship. Our services, often hosted in the welcoming environment of members’ homes, typically include heartfelt congregational singing, earnest prayer, a weekly opportunity for giving, a reverent and unified observance of the Lord’s Supper, and a sermon centered on God’s Word.
Fellowship is the lifeblood of our community! We love to connect before and after our Sunday services, sharing our lives, encouraging one another, and building strong bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood. Regular Bible classes, including VBI classes, available on weekday evenings, offer wonderful opportunities for our members to deepen their understanding of Scripture.
Our community life is also enriched by cherished traditions such as annual mission reports where we celebrate God’s blessings together, special visits to honor and pray for our elderly members during Lunar New Year (Tết), a dedicated “Sunday Harvest for Missions” offering, and a joyful church summer camp that strengthens our bonds and encourages spiritual growth.
